Chianti Classico has inspired artists since the times of Vasari and Leonardo, who immortalized it and made it famous as early as the 1500s.
It was the famous biographer of the great artists who sealed the art-Gallo Nero combination, with his famous Allegory in the Salone dei 500 in Palazzo Vecchio, in which Chianti is portrayed as an imposing old man on whose shield stands a Black Rooster.
Today it is contemporary art that offers a new interpretation of the Chianti area and its most noble product, the Black Rooster wine, as part of a new artistic project promoted by the Consortium Vino Chianti Classico and curated by Francesco Bruni and Giuseppe D’ Alia.
The absolute protagonist of “A(rt) message in a (Chianti Classico) bottle” is the Bordeaux bottle, the typical shape with which Gallo Nero wines are known throughout the world, which has been reinterpreted and transformed into a work of urban art by seven visual artists.
