“Author’ Horses 2024”
From 4 to 31 October, the exhibition Cavalli d’Autore, curated by Elena Conti, returns to the Museum Complex. As always, it focuses on the different artistic interpretations of the figure of the horse, the undisputed protagonist of this art group show, a subject with a strong symbolic charge and historically an icon of prestige and freedom, always associated with exclusively positive values. Cavalli d’Autore involves painters and sculptors who represent the horse in the most diverse ways and with the most particular techniques. The exhibition aims to express the deep love that has always tied the city of Siena to the horse, which, due to its beautiful anatomical shape and the grace of its movements, is certainly one of the most depicted animals in art.
The artists of this edition come from Albania, Argentina, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Mongolia and the United States, Italians and Sienese. Some of the artists present have painted the Palio or created the Masgalano.
